If you don't know Steve Cotter, you should. He is a wealth of knowledge and he walks the walk. This Tea Cup Shoulder Mobility Exercise is outstanding for anyone, particularly Crossfitters and weightlifters. Sagittal plane barbell junkies need dynamic mobility work like this.

Why doesn't he do it both ways? He always starts with internal rotation, but never performs or suggests performing the movement in the other direction.

Also, a tennis ball placed on the palm of the open hand affords quite a lot of feedback on the orientation of the hand.

This looks like it should be in a martial arts movie (master teaches student). You know--Karate Kid stuff.

I can't wait to try this with scalding hot tea; wait--maybe I'll start with a tennis ball first!
