Vern Gambetta has a great 3-part blog series on the evolution of his understanding and integration of strength training. I encourage everyone to read it, as he points out some of the pivotal people, ideas and events in the history of strength training in the US and abroad.
Many of you newbies out there do not have a good grasp of the history of strength training in the US, particularly before the evolution of the internet and currently popular web-based resources. Do yourself a favor and look up some of the original resources Vern lists.
